Biodefense

Introduction

Many of Cangene's products are hyperimmunes—purified antibody products-and are targeted towards infectious diseases. This makes many of our products applicable to biodefense programs. We have well-established and validated processes and facilities for developing and manufacturing medical countermeasures to biological threats and we have supplied three products to the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile. Additional elements of our program:

• Established track-record: contracts with HHS, NIH and the CDC in the United States, and with Health Canada.
• R&D contracts and grants for developing a number of protein and antibody-based therapies for conditions such as acute radiation syndrome and infection by Ebola or Marburg viruses
