Rh Immune Globulin (Anti-D)
Our Anti-D donors help produce this immune globulin (IG) that prevents Hemolytic Disease of Newborn and saves the lives of Rh positive babies born to Rh negative women. Without the IG, the mother's immune system could attack the blood of the fetus. Many of our donors are women who suffered the loss of a child before Rh Immune Globulin was available. Donors must be Rh negative and, if female, no longer be able to bear children.

Vaccinia Immune Globulin (VIG)
Vaccinia donors must have been previously vaccinated for smallpox and be willing to be vaccinated again. Their plasma is used to make a product that can be given to those who have serious reactions after receiving the vaccine. Vaccinia Immune Globulin (VIG) is given to those who suffer serious complications due to smallpox vaccine.

Varicella Zoster Immune Globulin (VariZIG™)
Donors in this program will be vaccinated against chickenpox. The resulting antibodies that these donors produce can help treat pregnant women exposed to or infected with chickenpox.

Diagnostic Red Cell Antibodies
Donors in this program have developed red cell antibodies either through pregnancy or blood transfusion. In rare cases, these antibodies may be naturally occurring. The antibodies from these donors are made into blood bank typing seras needed to make blood transfusions safe and possible. If you have been told you have a red blood cell antibody please contact us for more information.

Disease State Antibodies
We are always looking for donors who may have recently been diagnosed with a viral illness such as Hepatitis A or B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Mononucleosis, chickenpox and many others. Additionally, there is a need for plasma from donors with chronic and/or recurring conditions such as Shingles and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Antibodies from our disease state donors are used to make test kits that help diagnose others with the same condition. If you have been recently diagnosed or have a chronic condition please contact us to see if your antibodies are needed.
