Plasma Donors Needed who have been Previously Vaccinated against Anthrax

10.10.2007

Cangene and its contracted plasma donation centers across the nation are trying to find people to donate plasma for the Anthrax Immune Globulin (AIG) program. People who have been vaccinated against anthrax can donate their plasma which will be used to create a new medicine that may help treat those who become infected with anthrax.

Plasma donors earn a minimum of $50 for EACH AIG donation, with chances for additional bonuses. Go to www.cangeneplasma.com to find the center nearest you and to set up an appointment. Eligible donors must meet the normal requirements for plasma donation including but not limited to be in good health, at least 18 years old, and pass a brief physical examination and medical history screening. In addition, donors for the AIG program must have proof of any previous anthrax immunizations, and have received either:

  • 4 or more doses of anthrax vaccine*, or
  • 1 or more doses of anthrax vaccine, or
  • Zero doses of anthrax vaccine

*Potential plasma donors who have received a dose of anthrax vaccine within the past 21 days are eligible for immediate donation and should contact a nearby plasma center as soon as possible.

Plasma donation usually takes about an hour and a half and you can donate up to twice a week. Locations are open extended hours to accommodate all work schedules. Receive additional referral bonuses for EACH person you bring or refer who donates for AIG! Contact a plasma center today to find out about the AIG program and to set up your initial appointment.

Visit www.cangeneplasma.com for more specific information on the AIG program and to find out how you can start helping today by donating your plasma.
